While it is saddening to see the monuments and culture of Western Civilization continually torn down and destroyed, Al Mohler would be incorrect to say that Reformed Theologians would be in mourning over the destruction of essentially a temple to idols. For a review of what John Calvin (whom I disagree with on many things, but not this), check out chapter 11 in Book 1 of the Institutes of the Christian Religion. It is difficult to believe as someone as learned as Dr. Mohler could be that historically illiterate, while at the same time lamenting the destruction of history of which he is clearly ignorant.
The irony here is the Church in Europe has literally burned to the ground already and the cathedrals sit as temples to the glory of man rather than the glory of God. The notion that any made man work is indispensable is contrary to the Word of God.
The other question which Dr. Mohler does not even address, which is shameful secondary to the title of his article: where exactly is the soul of France?
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. (Matthew 24:35)
